She can’t wait to meet the other kids and share her sparkly personality. But her first day doesn’t go quite as planned: Her new classmates don’t like her disco-ball shoes, her PB&J-with-sprinkles sandwich, or her rainbow-y unicorn painting.
Ella decides to try to be less sparkly at school the next day so the other kids won’t make fun of her. But with a little help from her dad, she soon learns the importance of just being herself, no matter what other people say.

Q&A with Channing Tatum
What was the inspiration behind The One and Only Sparkella?
The One and Only Sparkella was inspired by my relationship with my daughter and trying to figure out as a single dad how to connect to her.
Sparkella and her dad have some great dance moves. How did your love of dance factor into this book?
Dancing opens my heart and so does my daughter.
What can we expect from Sparkella (and her dad) next?
You can expect for them to be solving more of life’s problems by letting their light sparkle and being more themselves. AKA: Shenanigans.
